Main Folder changed with reboot

In Progress

Hi,

my main directory normally is SD card android media.

Whenever I have to reboot my phone, it is changed to internal storage android data. Not very nice.

Whenever I change it back to my normal setting I MUST copy or move my data from wrong dir to normal dir with this change. Not what I intended to do.

This cannot be the intended behaviour!?

Did I do anything wrong?

Regards

Werner

Hi Werner,

could you please go to the main menu > helpdesk/about app > app info and take screenshots before the reboot and after the reboot? Thanks

Hi Michal,

here are my screenshots.

The minor problem is: the main directory is changed, but I can set it back to the SC card, where I want it to be.

The mayor problem is: I was forced, to copy (or even move) my data to the new directory, which means overwriting (i.e. deleting) my valuable data, which was there!

Kindly yours
Werner

"Main Folder Chacen" to "Main Folder Changed"

Thanks

Hi Werner,

it seems Locus Map can't access the folder on the SD card when rebooting, and creates a new empty directory structure in the default storage. Is the SD card OK? Could you please try to replace it with another SD card?

You may also update to the latest version 4.34 from our repo at https://bit.ly/lmVersions.

Hi Michal,

my SD card works perfectly in all respects, no indication, that something might be wrong with it. As I have no other SD card at the moment an will get soon an new smartphone anyhow, I cannot easily replace the SD card.

Is it possible, that there can be a timing problem, that after a reboot Locus tries to access the SC card before it is made available by Android.? Sounds not very likely to me, however!

The real problem for me in this case was not that I had to change the main directory back to the SD card, this is done relatively easily.

The real problem for me was, that changing the main dir Locus forced me to copy or move my (non existing!) data to the new directory, which meant overwriting (i.e. deleting) my valuable data, which was there!

I would like to suggest, that locus should detect, that there are real data at this location (destination of the copy/move) and allow me, to keep those. In particular this is true, if the source data, which are copied, is empty.

Kindly yours

Werner

Hi Werner,

please, do the following:

  • Download the latest beta version from http://bit.ly/lmVersionsTest
  • After installation, run the app and long-press the main menu button ( 65ab74f02671fb4a2ceb0db7c0510f6e )
  • Tap "Logging setup"
  • Turn on "Log to file" and "INITIALIZE", "INITIALIZE(MAPS)", "MAPS(CORE)", "MAPS(UI)", "LOCATION & GNSS", "FILE MANAGER", "SENSORS(v2)" categories
  • Then close the app, wait for 10s, and run it again.
  • Try to replicate the issue (it will be logged this way)
  • After that, send me the logs which will be created in "Android/data/menion.android.locus/files/Locus/logs"

Thank you very much.

If something isn't clear, feel free to ask me.
