Widget not working since 4.34.0

When updating to 4.34.0 the widget from the launcher and after adding it again, it does not work any more

1. pressing buttons (start/pause, add track point, change config, stop) does not do anything
2. recorded distance is only updated in the moment when adding the widget
3. track time is updated, but not on a regular interval – sometimes, every second, sometimes every few seconds – and after a while, not any more

Restarted the phone, no improvement, removed and added the widget, no improvement. Before the update, all widget functions worked fine.

Within the app, all track recording features I tried worked fine.
