High precision distance resolution in expert mode

In expert mode there are options to change "Units" in high precision mode for coordinates, altitude and angle. However can you add same feature for distance (GPS to cursor)? Proposal would be 1m below 1000m, 10m below 10km and 100m above 10km (1km above 100km). Currently resolution above 1000m is 100m which is really quite rough for certain applications.

Hi Jarkko,

Thanks for the suggestion — we've added support for higher-precision distance display in the next Locus Map update.

What's new in Expert settings: the three separate "high precision" toggles for altitude, angle and coordinates have been simplified. There is now a single "High precision mode" switch that, when enabled, shows altitude, angle and distance values with extra decimal places at the same time. The coordinates option keeps its own switch.

For distance specifically, enabling "High precision mode" shows one extra decimal place once the value crosses 1 km / 1 mi / 1 nmi — so for example 1.23 km becomes 1.234 km (≈ 1-metre resolution). Below 1 km the display stays in metres, as it already was.

If you previously had any of the old toggles turned on, the new unified switch will be enabled automatically after the update — no need to set it again.

The change will be available in one of the upcoming beta builds (4.34.0.x).

Best regards,

Locus team
