new v4.34 widget: back behaves not logical and not as useful as possible

Solved

In 4 "places" wide widget, click recording profile configuration icon. Now title tells "Settings". Clicking back goes to settings' highest hierarchy level, pressing back again closes Locus. This is IMHO this is not logical:

Either back brings me to where I was before – and before click recording profile configuration, I was not in settings highest hierarchy level, but in Android launcher. So already 1st back shall show the launcher. Implementing this makes way to Launcer faster/quicker by eliminating once "back".

Or the logic is that I start Locus by tapping the widget. Then, I am really in Locus and it shall behave like it always does, i.e. when I'm in highest level of Settings, tapping back brings me back to Locus maps screen. Implementing this makes way to Locus faster/quicker by eliminating once "click Locus icon in widget".

The current behaviour is unexpected because it's neither "strict" back logic nor "usual Locus logic" but some mix. Less interaction is not important on couch but when mobile is shaken while being active, i.e. Locus' core domain 🙂

Hi Georg,

Thanks for the detailed report. We've changed it so that when you open settings from the widget, pressing Back takes you straight back to your home screen instead of first dropping you into the full settings list. If you go one level deeper (e.g. into a recording profile), Back still steps you back up first. This will be in one of the next updates.
