Satellite maps for Namibia

Hi,

I am planning a holildaytrip to Namibia and would like to have a satellite map of a specific rigion in locus maps pro.

Because I cannot work online in the desert, I would like to put the map into the system in advance.

Can you tell me if this is possible and if so, how to do it?

Hello Frank,

lots of online maps in Locus is possible to download for offline usage. How to is described http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:maps_download

If you have own sattelite images for example in geoTiff format, you can convert them into Locus sqlitedb format using Mapc2Mapc software. See

Hello Petr,

I have checked all 3 links.

In locus maps I can only find satellite maps under MAPQUEST maps. Here, they are by far not detailed enough. Therefore making them offline work, makes no sence.

Link number 2 and 3: seems to bee a bit more complex and how do I get the map into these Programms.

Basically, I would like to have a part of Google maps / sattelite view or from Google earth in locus maps.


Is there a chance of doing this?

Goole maps are not really officially supported in Locus map. Second and third link are really complex. I'm sorry I only wanted to point on other possibilities.
