"inteligent" zoom function

Hi Locus team

I`m not sure if it`s implemented already, or if it works, but would be nice to have a "zoom" feature which switches between maps.

To be more clear:

- I have 3 sets of maps, one at 1:25000, another at 1:100000 and the last one at 1:250000. all maps are in Locus/Maps directory, so they are indexed at application start.

- if I`m currently displaying the 1:25K map, and at some point I want to zoom out more *bellow 60% zoom level or so), the application could switch to 1:100K map...if I zoom out even more (bellow 60% of the zoom level of 1:100K map), application could display the 1:250K map....and so on.

- the other way also can be helpful... from the 1:250K map to zoom in, when achieving 100%-120% zoom of the current map, and if there is available a more detailed map, the application to switch automatically to the more detail map...

- this function should be as an option (Turn On/Off by user preference).

I hope you got my point.

Thanks for support !

Hi Liviu,

Locus is able to combine more map files into one map and automatically show data based on zoom level or position.

- Please create new sub folder in Locus/maps, eg. Locus/maps/MyMergedMap.

- Move all map files you want to switch automatically into this folder.

- Start Locus

- You’ll see new map named “MyMergedMap” in Menu > Map > Personal

I know the rules and make use of them daily :-) :

1) More sqlitedb map files in a subfolder of ".../Locus/maps" are considered in Locus to be a single map file called by the name of the subfolder.

2) If you set "Settings - Map-advanced - PERSONAL MAPS - Map auto-load" to "Auto-load maps of the same type (if exist), other type otherwise", Locus tries to switch to another map (another subdirectory) when even the whole selected subdirectory from 1) does not cover your demand (= place + zoom).

This is fairly powerful policy. However, should this system be adjusted, I miss another button in Locus to force Locus alternate all the mapsources (the subdirectories from 1) if more than one cover the place and zoom I just want.
