Add OpenAndroMaps To Locus Store

I don't understand why this doesn't exist already. There are many other free map sources in the Locus store so I don't think that is the reason.

Not having this needlessly complicates the setup and configuration for new users. It took me about 10 minutes to begin downloading maps (most of the U.S.) in OsmAnd+ and they go right where they are supposed to be on the REAL SD card.

I have been messing with Locus for over a week and have managed to get a single state map installed but only on internal memory and NOT the SD card where they really need to be.

Making this necessary setup and configuration this difficult is likely chasing away a LOT of new users.

Hello Steve,

we are trying to bring full world coverage with a single type of map (LoMaps) plus local coverage with one (in some cases two) map providers that have something unique in certain area.

Adding OpenAndroMaps into Locus Store only increase complexity for basic users because then there will be two maps that brings full world coverage. Also, I do not know how providers of OpenAndroMaps pay for servers, but we have to have LoMaps paid to cover its cost.

About maps on SD card: not a hard task, simply set directory for vector maps as we describe here.

Hope this helps and give you necessary answers. Feel free to ask if something is not clear.

No sure if I understand correctly that LoMaps are updated once a year.

I don't think a daily update like for OSM is needed by anyone, but having a monthly or at least a quarterly update of LoMaps and even more importantly POIs would be very beneficial.

Yes, some part of the world change slowly, others change very fast, and nothing is more annoying than an outdated map with outdated POIs.

So any second or third source of offline Maps and POIS would be great!

Yearly? Should not be. If something does not change behind my back, it should be updated once per 2-3 months.

I think I did not read/understand the info on the web properly ...So, LoMaps are updated app once per 2-3 months, any updated version is payable, and can be downloaded again within 1 year.

We are a little offtopic here ...

Anyway seems that content in our docs.locusmap.eu manual is a little outdated, we will fix it. Shortly, yes, updates are paid, but there is no limit on download. Once paid, you may download it everywhere (all devices with the same account) and forever.
