Read navigation notes during guidance/navigation

Gathering feedback

I would like to use guiding to read out navigation notes from a track.

As far as I can tell, two things are missing.

1. Text to speach of name of waypoint when approaching one.

2. Ability to add waypoints to a pre-existing track.

It would also be nice when adding the waypoints to have the option to store them exlusively in the track. This option is currently available in the track import screen.

Hi Goosien,

POI TTS notify

Feature already excist in Locus (Pro). But I do think to understand what you

expect and ask for.

1. Text to speach of name of waypoint when approaching one.

Waypoint (single) is known by Waypoint Notifier Locus. (no TTS).

Waypoints (multiple) are not directly supported by Locus (Notifier.)

There is a workaround: Import 'merged' Waypoints from track into a POI points folder: I use a folder name "Way" and activate the POI - TTS notifier. See how to:

http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=3318.msg30482#msg30482

With 2 points in POI range the message by function "poi_alert_X_points in range" results in: Two (X) points in range. Or a kind of 'Non Message' ! I should prefer simply express all the POI names.

2. Ability to add waypoints to a pre-existing track.

Use already attached waypoints from a loaded track, and add extra points for direct usage in the previous created POI folder "Way". Exporting the result, with these points into one merged track ? I did not find a method for now. There excist in Data-> (Points,Tracks,Items): in "Tracks" a possibility to merge "tracks with tracks" but not a possibility to merge "tracks with points" and then exporting them as one merged file. I had a look here:

http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:data:how_to_export_track.

Good day guys,

if I understand this older idea correctly, both request should be already possible in Locus Map app.

May you confirm it Goosien, others? Thanks!

To be produced by Locus ? I think not possible.

Select from the Locus database: Tracks + Points. Select a track(s) and join with selected free point(s) (POI) -> export result into a SINGLE gpx file.

Expected result : See an example gpx file: = Produced by "gpx editor" (pc).

This single gpx file contains: A single track AND 2 poi's: "Info" and "72".

Whereby "72" is very near the track postion, but not locked (associated) to any trackpoint.

Hello Willy,

thanks for a feedback. It really looked that ideas ( http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/add-poi-to-existing-track_2 ), are duplicate, but this one ism different so I've modified it's title so it make more sense now.

Aha ! makes sense. Indeed. But Goosien asked 3 years ago ! Locus at that time did not add (by user) for example any 'Via point" Right ?

By changed "Idea" title:

Now it is about add "Info Priority Points",coupled, attached, associated to a single trackpoint.

(Locus integration is by "extensions" use...as you know I do not like that very much)

Anyway should result in:

Announcements (TTS/Voices) by the Navigation module, (difference with POI announcer), similar to Locus "Via Points" but "Info Points" additonal have free editable .

By Locus ? I do not think possible, as Locus function convert or add Navigation Point only presents limited "navigation order" list.

How should it look like ?

Another demo file (gpx trackfile by associated waypoints/no extensions) And in the usual +/- test region ;-)

Has them all: Associated standard orders: "Navigation Points" + "Info Priority Points" (Restaurant,Fishing area,3 x Flag) + "POI" (Flag,Green)
