Add a new waypoint to Guide On feature ( Guide VIA POINT)
Gathering feedback
This feature is common in every gps navigation software: http://www.roadmapgps.com/glossary/vi...
Sometimes I have Guide on turned on towards one point. And then, I want to create a simple route to get to my destination through the other point or more points. So maybe it would be nice to add a new position to point/guiding mini-menu. Now it looks like that:
- Compass
- Guide On
- Navigate to
I`m thinking about:
- Guide On
- Guide via this point ( this position will only appear when there is already a Guiding On turned on)
- Navigate to
- Compass
When we will add a new point to GUIDE VIA, I presume the new temporary track should be created, and turned Guide On for this track.
Very good idea. Especially useful for offline users like me.

Yeah, but it looks like nobody else cares

I`ve already started a thread `interim target when you use the guiding feature with a similar question or idea. So I will support this one.

ah seems these topics are identical aren`t they? In this case, I should merge them, no problem with this?
EDIT: ah my bad, sorry. Not exactly same. This is more focused on ability to create a additional waypoint when guided on single waypoint, where hike39`s topic is more on additional waypoint during a guiding along track ...

Here is another try to explain my idea. Let`s say I`ve created a route consisting out of 50 waypoints, numbered 1 to 50. When I turn on the guiding I will get the information the distance and direction to the next waypoint seen from my actual postion and to the waypoint 50. But I would like to have the possibility to define that I want to be guided first to waypoint 25 and, when I will have arrived there, then the destination should change automaticly to the end point of the route at waypoint 50.
Question to elmuSSo: Does that cover your idea too?

Not really, but I will support your idea, because I think I was also considering creating a thread for a similar idea. So lets talk about it there.

Hi.
I still miss this feature. Any possibilities to implement it?

I admit I would not use this often, but like many things when you need something like this you need it pretty bad.
I think it would be a good tool.

This is a really needed function.
I'm driving and I set a route "Navigate to" to the given point. Then I look at the calculated route and... this is not good, I need to add a VIA point. Now here starts the hell. I have to touch the destination once again or even write it in a search box, then, again set the route parameters and I FORGET to add a VIA point, so this is now the THIRD TIME I'm calculating a route, this time, I have added a VIA point in it. Now it's good... F***! Not good, I need another VIA point, so I START OVER THE WHOLE F..... PROCEDURE, and I pray not to forget one of the VIA points.
Thats why adding a VIA point is needed AFTER the route has been created.

Remember that this is also for Guide function. Many times Im setting Guide to point, but in the meantime im travelling there, i want to add additional Via point. I dont want to create manually a separate track with this Via point, i just want to create ad-hoc Guide to track with this additional point (and maybe even more of them)
