After android update - No maps, POIs or tracks

Solved

Hi!

A few days ago my Samsung Galaxy SII was automatically updated. Then all my maps and other data went missing. It seems the address for the external sd card was changed, and it prevents Locus from finding the neccessary files. The new address is /storage/externalSDcard, previously /sdcard/externalsd.

I have managed to establish my maps by selecting the correct directory, but my POIs and tracks I can`t seem to get back.

How can I get back my files?

I have tried to start Locus with app manager as suggested in another thread, but no difference.

Appreciate any help, as I had lots of data stored.

Android version 4.1.2, I9100XXLS8

Hi,

if I understood correctly, the old map files were located at "/sdcard/externalsd/Locus/" and this directory still exists on your device?

There are 2 ways to recover your POIs and tracks.

If so, you can copy the whole directory "/sdcard/externalsd/Locus/" to the new one in "//storage/externalSDcard/Locus/" and everything should work.

Remember that you now have everything like before, so you might find every map twice as you added the other directory manually.

If you have enabled automatic backups, start your new "empty" Locus and use backup function. Navigate to your "old" backup directory in Locus called "/sdcard/externalsd/Locus/backup" and choose the last backup.

Hope this helps. If not, don`t hesitate to ask again!

@Menion, where are the FAQs? ;)

Hi Berkley, thanks for responding.

But this is not possible. The old location on //sdcard is empty and there is nothing to copy. All my files are located at the new address on //storage. This because the card was mounted to //sdcard earlier, now it is not.

I have tried to copy Locus folder except "Maps" to the old location on //sdcard/externalsd/locus, but it doesn`t help.

Hello,

may you please check if you don`t have by any accident, two directories of Locus in your device? On on card and second in root of internal memory? This may cause these troubles.

...and that was the problem. I deleted a second folder and now everything is back to normal. Phew, got a little bit worried there for a while.

Thanks a lot for the support!

perfect! I`m just curious ... Locus do not noticed you, that there are two duplicate folders?

No, I can`t remember that I got any notice. I actually tried to recreate the original location so that at one time there were three locus folders.
