"Age" of the database POI's.

Hi, I wanted to know how recent are the databases POI's? (Especially Argentina and Chile).

Is there any possibility to generate a database format that is useful for Locus map based on OSM .pbf?

Greetings.

Hello,

the POI's database is old as base LoMaps. The age is defined by version of LoMaps - the last version in Locus store is 2015.12.30. So the database is three months old.

POIs DB is simple sqlite database. So you can open it and check the structure. We have own generator that is not distributed right now but if you're familiar with OSM / osmosis / sqlite db you can customize the content of POI's database.

Hi Petr.

Thank you very much for the reply. Now I can see the update.

Do you think in the future distribute the generator? As the generator files needed to use GraphHopper.

Greetings.

Hi,

I can remember that main developer wanted to offer generator for free usage. So maybe one day will be available if we decide that generator works fine. But I can not give any promise or exact date.

It's understandable. I think relying on a format / owner structure is good counterattacking with many GPS applications for which the user can not maintain updated data for your region.

So I like Locus, where you can use maps offline updated independently of those offered in the store Locus (eg andromaps), as well as to generate maps updated for use with the GraphHopper application routing.

Thank you very much, I'll keep on waiting for POIS generator offline.

Greetings, and congratulations for Locus!
