All recorded tracks are gone

Solved

Hi,

I have just returned from a travel to the US. I recorded lots of tracks, mainly to later match them with my photos I took there.

Today I wanted to export the tracks and started Locus to do that. When I now go to the "tracks" section, the software tells me that there are no saved tracks!

I really do not know why and when the tracks are gone. I know that all tracks where available one week ago when I was still in the US. Now all track data seems to be gone. Other data, like POIs, offline maps etc. is still there.

Any suggestions how I can recover the data? It would be _really_ important for me.

I am using Locus Pro 2.6.3 on a Motorola Defy

Any help is appreciated.

Thx, BR,

Florian

Update:

The current dbtracks.sqll is only 4kB big. So I guess the file was corrupted at some point. I found an auto-backup which is almost 2 weeks old. I will try to recover from that, but that still means that I lost half of my tracks recorded during my trip to the US.

Great.

Hi Florian,

don`t worry. Sometimes it happens. I think, there is a problem with duplicate directory Locus in your device.

Please, check the directory Locus in the storages of your device and in case of duplicity of the directories, move your data to original directory Locus and then you will see your tracks in the app locus.

In case of troubles, please, contact me.

Hi Hana,

thx for the quick answer. However I am not sure what I am looking for. I have a Locus directory which is located in the root of my SD-Card.

How should there be another directory with the same name?

Where exactly should I look for another directory with the name Locus? Or does it have a different name? On my SD-Card there seems to be only one directory with that name.

Hi Florian,

the duplicate directory can be in an internal storage of your device. In case, you have the directory Locus in an external storage, so search an internal memory.

Hi Hana,

thx again for the reply. Unfortunately there is no duplicate Locus folder somewhere else on my device.

However for some of the places I have been I could reconstruct where I took my photos and manually geotag them. So the loss is not as big as I thought at first.

I changed the config for the auto backup to daily so I am on the save side should that happen again.

Thank you for your help anyway, BR,

Florian

On the Defy look in SDcard/Locus/Export for your exported tracks. (I am on a Defy and Locus 2.6.3).

Hi henkvanderspek,

thx for your help, but the exported tracks are not my problem. The tracks I recorded and did not export yet where gone.

However, I managed to use a backup and got most of my tracks back.

Florian
