Allow distance rings to move with cursor without disabling GPS
Gathering feedback
When the GPS is enabled and position is valid, the distance rings (if visible) are always centered on the GPS position. For example:
However I would like like to be able to pan to a completely different location and have the distance rings centered over the cursor for use in measurements instead of remaining off-screen centered over the GPS position. This is currently possible if I disable the GPS, but of course re-enabling the GPS often takes considerable time so the process is too slow and tedious.
My suggestion is that when Hold Map Center is disabled the distance rings are centered over the cursor instead centered over the GPS position.

And this idea was raised already - http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/draw-distance-ring-from-the-center-of-map-rather-than-from-the-gps-point

Good day guys,
main core of this feature is to measure distance from your current GPS position > to give you quick overview of distance to various places around during a trip.
For quick measure between various places already exists
Isn't this enough? I think that currently solution is logical. Rings that depends on enabled/disable hold map center function are really hard to explain to users. Rings that move with map center cross does not make sense, because you then won't be able to measure distance from current GPS location ( you move with map and rings move as well) .
So my main question: why mentioned three methods are not enough and there is need for another.

Hi Menion
I use distance rings as more useful tool (compare with traditional bottom scale). I.e. would be great if will be possible to use it without additional tools and switches.
" because you then won't be able to measure distance from current GPS location " - i think that option "Line to GPS" more suitable for this, because shows the accurte distance. And if try to open a POI that is quite far from the current GPS location (a few kilometers), the distance rings may be out of the screen (depend on the zoom level)
Would be ideal to have the new setting - for giving a choice

One example
How does the existing behavior "Distance rings" functionality help to answer typical questions?:
1. What is the distance from the current location to the map center? (see screenshot please)
2. What is the distance between points A and B?
