Android Marshmallow track recording stops - SOLVED

I have been using the pro version of Locus for the last 3 years and I have to say that this is a wonderful piece of software, feature rich and well maintained! My device is a Nexus 5x running a rooted, but by all other means a plain vanilla Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) OS.

The problem: I was unable to record tracks for more than 5 minutes after the display was switched off. After 5 minutes, no points were recorded anymore. The recording continued as soon as I switched on the device again, failing again after exactly 5 minutes after screen off.

After fiddling with the Locus and Android settings for weeks and reading numerous threads about problems with track recording, I finally succeeded. To cut a long story short, an app called Greenify was the root cause of the problem. I am using Greenify to keep the overall battery drain low. Greenify has a some special settings (labeled experimental), that enable new Android 6 power saving strategies. These power saving strategies are labeled "shallow hibernation" and "aggressive doze". I used the "aggressive doze" mode with Locus on the white list of apps that are to be excluded from "aggressive doze" mode. Unfortunately, this white listing did not work. After 5 minutes, the whole device entered doze mode and the recording stopped. The setting for "shallow hibernation" was off all the time. As soon as I switched off "aggressive doze" the track recording went back to normal. Bingo :)

Thanks again for this fine piece of software!
