Android v6 & SD card problem
Answered
My Galaxy S5 phone has just updated itself from Android v5 to v6. It seems that maps which were stored on the SD card in a directory called LocusMaps are no longer accessible. I get an initial red warning message:
Problem with custom directory for 'maps/'
...which is followed by another warning:
Problem with file '/mnt/extSdCard/LocusMaps'!
As far as I can see, the permissions granted for the Locus Pro app - Contacts, Location, Microphone and Storage - are all granted.
Am I missing something obvious?
Hello John
- first be true you use the newest Locus version 3.17.2
naming of external SD in android6 is like "D210-9ABC", so you have to set your map directory new !
- delete old link to map
- open settings/misc/Default directories and set link to your external vector map folder
- add your vectormap folder

Hello,
try to copy off-line maps on the SD card into this folder: SD card\Android\data\menion.android.locus.pro\files\Locus\maps (or mapsVector) - depends on type of your maps, reboot Locus and then set new path of the off-line maps.

Yesterday i bougt locus pro and have to change download directories to sd card, because of less space on the intern card. So far everything was ok after restarting locus. But the first of the three free map downloads in the store always fail. And the download of German North map shows up a total size of 1615.37 MB, but when the download starts, it only shows up a total size of 1043.03 MB and the download always fail, even if completed the 1043.03 MB. In red it says try again later or so...

Thanks for the quick response. I think the problem is now fixed.
One of the difficulties I had is navigating the Android file structure. In my case the location of the offline maps turned out to be:
/storage/0C2A-6ABB/LocusMaps/
I went to Settings > Miscellaneous > Default Directories and changed both the 'maps/' directory and the 'mapsVector/' directory. In both cases I got a new warning as follows:
"Change of directory requires terminating of Locus and moving the content manually to a new location.
Read Only
WARNING! '/storage/0C2A-6ABB/LocusMaps' directory is READ-ONLY and may cause unexpected behaviour of the app"
I ignored the warnings, restarted Locus and all seems OK. I didn't have to move the maps anywhere and they are where they always were...;-)
Thanks again for the help!
