Custom cursor and navigation icons
Completed
I`ve changed the icon in the regular display, but is there a way to change the little green car icon when navigating a route?
Hi,
I didn`t find any settings to change this icon. Maybe in future?
Cheers

One thing I did not like about both the Navigation icon (car) and the Moving icon (Arrowhead) is that the GPS position was at the center of the icon. So in the case of the car, the front of the car extended past a turn. It would be better if the GPS position were at the center of the front bumper of the car.
Same with the Moving icon (Arrowhead). The GPS position should be the sharp point (OUCH!!) of the arrowhead.
Now it looks like the user can make and load his own custom icons.
To illustrate my point, the following image shows the standard icon used in aircraft navigation displays, a hollow isosceles triangle, where you are located at the sharp point (OUCH!)-

Understand. Anyway even this case can be done with custom icons I think.
Imagine you have icon 50x50 px. So just create new image 100x100 and put your smaller icon at bottom. Then will be center of icon on top of your own smaller icon
question is only final size of image. It`s set to be maximum 96px * DPI scale. Where this scale depend on display but for example for 800x480px display, it`s usually 1.5. So you can create up to 144x144px big image

I copied both the Move icon and the Navig icon from the apk. They are both 72px X 72px. I understand what you are saying, and it should be easy to do in Photoshop.

Ok, I will wait for 2.03 over the Market to get rid of the blue car when I walk *lol*

So, it`s official :). Even with 2.1.1 me, myself and I cannot change the navigation icons. Running Android 2.1 on a Defy.
I took three (identical) arrows of 36 by 36 px and named them
ic_navig_cycle.png
ic_navig_foot.png
ic_navig_car.png
then zipped them into mynavarrows.zip and stored it into Locus/icons/navigation
Through Main menu/settings/map/navigation cursors I can now choose between Default or mynavarrows
Next I plan a navigation in Locus and the blue car (default) still shows up, even after a phone restart.
Vector maps or online maps make no difference.
I can change the map cursors without any problem with the zipped sets from the market.
Maybe someone on monday?
