Auto-zoom

SV Hovland shared this problem 6 years ago
Not a Problem

I see often, but not always, that the combination center the map on my gps position and move the position 1/4 down, auto-rotate the map so that my direction is always up and finally auto-zoom depending on speed not always work.

The rotation is often on another arbitrary point on the map and not around my own position. So it often ends up that my own position is rotated off-screen. This happens when automatic zooming occurs.

I observe the same problem. And I think this is only in the latest version. I did not notice before.

Hi,

do you have "Hold map center" checked? (hold finger on the centering button and check the option)

No, I don't use that function. Is that a requirement for auto zoom to work?

Not for auto zoom but for keeping cursor centered on your position.

So if the center map button is pressed and is selected (blue color) and I don't touch the screen, that is not enough?

If you don't touch the screen then active centering button (blue) is enough but are you sure you don't touch it?

Yes

Yes. The autocenter is turned on.

I have two phones. The same version of Locus is installed.

The same config.cfg is used.

map_hold_center_method_timeout = 30

On a phone that is "weak", the map does not return to the GPS position often.

On a phone that is "fast", the map does not return to the GPS position seldom.

I can assume that the reason for this behavior is the application's operation when using the screen lock.

I've tested it for a few minutes and no problem when "hold map center" is on. Will test more but if I don't simulate the issue, there's hardly a solution.

My testing in the office is just as successful.

I will observe in "field" conditions.

If I get it, I'll let you know.
