Hi Alain,
tap the centering button in the bottom left corner. For even tighter holding the center position, hold a finger on it and then check the option "hold map center".

we are very sorry to reply so late. We had a critical problem with our helpdesk server that didn't convert e-mails into queries so we didn't have information about some incoming requests.
Locus Map is available in French, of course. Just have your phone system language French and set Locus language as "system" (settings > Language&units > App language)
