Best way to update external folder maps [4.4+] || Maps update center

Since I updated to KitKat I was forced to use the external folder on SD card to keep my maps. With the release of version 3.5.0 and the new vector maps, I wanted to update the maps to the current version. But since the app can't write to the SD card, the new maps were downloaded to the internal memory's Locus folder and now I have every updated map available twice. Is there a smoother version how to solve the update than downloading the maps in the internal folder, deleting the ones in the external folder and copying the new ones from internal to external?

2) I was trying to find a section where I could see all my purchased maps and check whether there is an update available for them or not. I have about 8 countries downloaded in Locus and it's annoying to search for them in the store and checking myself. Is there a way how to simply manage all my maps downloaded from the Locus Store? See all downloaded in one screen and see whether they are up-to-date or not and possibly have them updated? (some similar suggestions already exist here http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/signalizing-new-map-available-or-you-have-latest-release )

Hello popescu,

both points you wrote are very important and I completely understand what you wants to say. So:

1. place for download - currently exists few possibilities - check this http://www.locusmap.eu/locus-run-since-update-device-android-4-4-2-kitkat/ , in your case Solution B and D. It's not perfect.

Currently Android L seems to offer some alternative solution so I have to find and check it. If it will work on 100%, there will probably not be any other solution. If it will not work on 100%, I plan to add some extra options with ability to specify certain directories, so for example maps on card to private dir, database to internal etc.

2. best you can do, is to vote for mentioned topic. There is currently no option how to do it. We have one more priority for task on next month and this will comes on work probably during February as it's quite important!

Hope I gave you answer with at least small hope for better future :)

Menion, with Locus and your work there is always hope for a better future :) As long as you yourself consider it important, I'm sure it'll be dealt with sooner or later. Let's see what Android L will bring.
