Better performance by scrolling through the map
Declined
Hello
if I scroll through the maps in Locus it laggs very hard.
Can you improve this, that it is smoother?
Thanks in advance
Good day Nicolai,
probably not, sorry. But depend on what map are you using, how many points/tracks you have on a map, if you use any shading, overlay, wms, coloring etc.

I use the pure map without any points and tracks and I don't use shading etc.
but anyway
Thanks for your answer

And which map Nicolai? I'm asking because in usage of MBT maps in latest Locus is an issue, that slow down whole map system a lot, so it will be improved in next version.
Anyway generally speed of maps is priority no 1. It has not just effect on usability, but also battery usage etc. Unfortunately what you see is a maximum I personally am able to get from current system that Locus use. Without using OpenGL implementation, I cannot do more for now, sorry.
This is anyway different topic: http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/3d_maps_by_using_srtm_files (topic is named 3D, but more generally it is about using hardware of your device, not just software, for map rendering).

I use the map from openandromaps
But anyways...
Thanks for your answer. This problem is not very important.

Ah "vector maps", this is another category. They are even little bit slower then other online/personal maps. I'm still slowly working on some speed improvements.
Nicolai, thank you for your topic anyway I think, that in this case is not needed. I'm trying from time to time, to improve existing system to make it faster, more responsive. Currently, there is not place for some huge improvement except mentioned OpenGL system. So unfortunately do not expect miracles, but I'm sure, it will be better and better :).
Have a nice day
