Black square on all maps

Recently I noticed that on all of the maps (both downloaded and online) there is a black square covering my home and surrounding area. Any idea what this is and how to get rid of it? Thanks!

Very interesting, never saw it.
- you wrote "all map types" - you mean also with some online maps, or just with different themes for vector maps?
- what is source of map on screenshot, Locus Store?
- is it happen only on same place with this zoom level or randomly on various places in various zoom levels
- is it happen everytime, or just from time to time?

It happens with both online and offline maps, and I tried many different online maps (not just vector maps) and they all have the same black square.
The map source is that is listed after clicking on the "map" button in Locus.
It happens at every zoom level. Never in various places, always the same map location is blocked out.

Hello, thank you for extra information. This one will be hard as I have no idea why it may happen. I see only possible reason and it is because of some problem in shading.
What happen if you disable shading of maps? If it helps, it should only mean that you have some invalid SRTM files in /data/srtm directory. If so, are you using some own files or files downloaded directly over Locus?

Hi Menion. I tried disabling the shading, closed and restarted the app. The black square is still there.

Maps are stored on my phone. I have not tried to change them to the SD card. Should I?
My phone is a galaxy S5, Android version 4.4.4.
No custom rom or any other customizations.

Hmm so everything original, quite common devices Galaxy S5, no special modifications.
Even if you did some, I can't imagine what may cause this. It looks like center tile is draw completely black instead of map tile. To be true, I can't imagine method, how to solve it without your device in my hands.
So only what I think about, is offer you refund of your purchase as this is for sure problem that cause useless of whole app.
We should discuss here what else to try, but it is more on you. Like different maps, check if any overlay or WMS is not enabled, temporary rename Locus folder on card, try Locus Map Free version, re-install, reset preferences in application, restart device, etc...

Thanks Menion. I don't want a refund but thanks for the offer. The black area is not where I hike, it's just annoying. I did try different maps but will check any overlay and try re-installing the app, etc. If I get it to go away I'll let you know what did the trick, otherwise I'll just live with it. Still the best app I've found!
