BRouter alternative routes

Gathering feedback

This year BRouter integration is a big improvement (thanks), but it misses an option to calculate alternative routes. BRouter as an ad-on can calculate up to 3 alternatives when a calculation is repeated for the same points. An addition of some pull out list where one can select a different number of alternatives to calculate at once would make it.

More exactly, BRouter is not an addon. It is a standalone application, exposing its API to LocusMAp, OSMAnd and OruxMaps.

I am not sure if the current API offers such an option.

Personally, I never use the alternatives if working directly with BRouter. I usually go via the profile choice that fits my needs, viapoints and nogos.

OK. Let's call it plug-in.

I use alternatives mainly to not use the same routes as return or in towns sometimes as inspiration for via points.

Hi,

this would be an excellent choice. Cyclers always love alternative routes.

Does anybody know how to define the settings (in both, Locus & BRouter) to get alternative route proposals?

One has to repeat calculations between the same points and profile using the old way using BRouter: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tracks:planning:brouter

This way one can get more alternatives than in BRouter web client.

This would be useful if the alternative routes also would show the Mean Cost factor (as on brouter-web).

Is it done? I read on Brouter:

BRouter: alternative route calculations Sometimes the routing result is not what you want, and you are looking for some other way, following the same routing preferences, but not following the way of the first choice routing result.

Maybe you don't like the first choice, or you are planning a roundtrip and don't want to go back the same way. For this purpose, BRouter can calculate alternatives.

Does it work in Locus Classic?
