Can we Navigate to an off road location (ie a Geochache?)

I have tried to click on a Geocache location (that is off the track) and done a Navigate To. It does not have to be a Geocache - any location that is off the trail will do. Locus calculates a route ONLY only to a point on the nearest trail, which is totally pointless.

You could even be off trail youself, and the location you want to go to is also offtrail. What Locus does is find the nearest trail and generate a route that starts at the nearest track location to you, and ends at the nearest track location to your offtrack destination. This is usless as the trail could be 10 miles away and your destination point 100m further up the bush.

I have tried every option in Locus I can think of to allow this sort of route generation, but have not been successful. Is there some way to do this?

Dear Kerry.

Navigation in Locus calculates routes on roads and trails, if a point is not on any road, navigation automatically guides you to the nearest point on the road.

The only option is guidance to the point. However, this must be started manually.

The way I do it:

Once LocusMap has suggested the nearest point on the road, I add the details of the offline section. I switch from automatic drawing mode to manual mode, and add as many straight lines I need to approximate the offline path I will be traveling on.

No worries. So far it has not been an issue as the distances are so small. But did think it was rather pointless using Locus in this situation if the route it draws is so useless. But all good.
