Thank you for file - file with only one BTS would be better - it's complicated to work with this huge dataset. However back to your question: this is not possible in Locus. I'm sorry but this is nonsense. Please have a look on google earth functionality. I'm pretty sure that Google Earth does not show any sector. See two attached screenshots. They show the same points but on the second is the view rotated. Why the sector lines do not respect the rotation?

Good day Abdul,

may you please enlight me with information what is "sectors of BTS"? Maybe some screenshot from Google Earth or something that may help to understand and give you correct answer. Thank you

Hi Menion,

Thank you for your response. I attached two screen shorts for the purpose of understanding. In a given example BTS ID is *8615 and first digit (*) representing specific sector of BTS that could be 1,2,3. Google earth marked the BTS sectors on the basis of cell ID from KML file. In first image i just highlighted the sectors for clarity purpose.

Thanks in advance.

means show https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Base_transceiver_station on map?

AND WHY >"while importing KML" ?

To see your points AFTER import is not ok?

Hello Abdul,

well have you tried to import KML file into Locus? Is missing something after import?

Thank you

Petr

Hi Petr ,

Yes i imported successfully , it pinned the BTS on the map, that's good enough but i want more, i want it to show me sectors in specific BTS. like its showing in google earth (find the attached file).

Abdul, may you share directly any Kml file? I think no one still get your point as I see nothing intereating on your screeshot. Thanks

The KML file from Google Earth would be better for us. However I've quickly checked the source XLS file. If I understand it correctly then for example first three rows with CID 12007, 22007, 32007 describe one BTS. Am I right? But these points have the same Lat and Lon coordinates. So I don't understand how is the sector defined?

Petr yes you got it right and i appreciate for the valid and good question.

One BTS usually consist of 3 Cell IDs (That means 1 BTS have 3 sectors, covers the 360 Degree by dividing the whole BTS circle into 120 degree each sector), The cell id that starts with "1" representing the North Sector and each sector next to the north comes after 120 degree.

Hopefully it helped you to understand.

OK I can understand the BTS and sector. But I don't still understand how is the sectr defined in KML file in Google Earth. To get deeper I also need to understand how do you create the KML file? I don't really think that Google Earth draw or create automatically the sectors around every BTS? More over the red lines on your screenshot are not in angle 120 degrees.

Well I'm sorry but I guess that you're wrong with Google Earth. Let's say that you've imported the XLS file into Google Earth (again the KML file would be great for us). Then every BTS is shown as yellow pin but there are three pins on the exactly the same place! So there is group of three points. When you click on the pin then Google Earth only unpack this group and try to shown that there are more points in the group.

So the question is - are you really sure that Google Earth shown the sector? If yes then we need the example KML file with one BTS where we can see the sectors. Thank you

there is link for KML file. i imported this KML file in google earth. It draws number of pins of map which represents BTS. when i click on any of the BTS it shows me sector like showing in attached file. Simple question is can we do the same in Locus Map?

well at-last we got the right answer and reason. I am sorry i was wrong it wasn't a sector plotting but just unpacking the BTS group. Thank you so much petr. but lets turn the question into Idea. How can we do this ? is there any way or any solution?

hm, only in a similar way.

you have to zoom and tap for further sector id infos.

see screenshot.

To draw sectors directly as some lines over map, it may be done manually ... so write some own script that will prepare these lines into KML file. So you will have 100 lines and 300 polylines that will define sectors. There is no way to do it automatically as I know, sorry.

This is a good example for "how can i NOT answer" :)

@Abdul Hanan

Menion ask you: what does "B. T. S." means - no answer

Menion and Petr ask for the kml - you send jpg

I am trying my best make them understand what i wanna ask. and Gynta i thought i covered your question when i answered to Menion. Anything you want to ask please ask?
