Cannot get voice routing to work

I am evaluatimg Locus Map Pro as an alternative to Google Maps for getting voice guided routing while riding my Motorbike.

I have Locus Map Pro 3.25.3 on a Galaxy Note 4 (SIngapore) with Android 6.0.1

Two main issues

a) when I search for an adress in either Online or Offline (Locus Store maps) wg for the name 'Wheeler' and 'search around your location' *is* selected, it still often returns far away (ie US) cities.. When it find the local shop/cafe 'Wheeler's yard' this is shown on th map only as 'Point', so I cannot be sure what it found. No address details like Google Maps, nothing.

When I then select 'navigate to' and select 'Fast' option, with 'Avoid Highways' and 'Guide Mode': Navigation , and Start as 'GPS" it justsits there 'Waiting'. .Why? What is it waiting for?

When I select the starting point again and actually 'SET' the current coordinates. it goes 'Working' and then audibly says 'Let's go'.. So I go and then

b) there NO guidance when to turn or anything. At some random(?) point it tells me that 'the route has been recalculated' but nothing else. No directions where to turn, or how fat to go straight. *bo voice guidance whatsoever*. Also , I say that 'route has been recalculated' appears randomly, because it does NOT happen when I am leaving the previously calculated route etc. It does happen sometimes when I am well along a long straigt stretch on that route

How can I make this app useful for voice routing. Is this due to the fact that turn off the screen (lock) the phone and put it into my pocket? I have set Locus as Service already.

Hi,

1) online address search in Locus is by default provided by Google and works only with valid postal addresses. So the searched sentence must be part of the address name. Similar it is with offline addresses although the method of address input is different - you select city, street and then house number.

2) "Start as 'GPS" it justsits there 'Waiting'. .Why? What is it waiting for?" - Locus is waiting for the GPS fix of location

3) "NO guidance when to turn or anything." - try another routing service (Locus settings > Navigation > Navigation data source)

4) "Is this due to the fact that turn off the screen (lock) the phone and put it into my pocket? I have set Locus as Service already." - setting Locus as service often is not enough measure against Android battery optimization which can kill navigation or text-to-speech voice machine. Either turn all battery optimization off or assign an exception to Locus and TTS. The way it works depends on the type of device you use. More info and a few tips are here: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:gps_lost_fix_android6.

best regards
