Canoe Navigation possible?
Answered
Hi,
I am wondering if it's just possible to create a track on water by typing some points on the map and then let locus navigate me on the line between the waypoint. Just show my the right direction, my position, distance to paddle... !?! :)
I created a track but I think locus doesn't understand, that I don't want to go over the road at all.
Is there any option to do this? Or a other app? Its just the easiest way of Navigation I think!? But I dont find any app.
Best Regards
Hi,
of course you can be navigated along an own created (clicked) route. Just create the route by Add new route tool ( http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tracks:planning - without help of a router, of course, just free drawing points on the water) and then tap the route on map and select "Navigation". Hi,
I missing also this task inside of Locus. May be a solution for the future. Is the LOCUS-team thinking about this?
Meanwhile I found an upcoming App (currently only for iOS) http://www.canua.info developed by http://www.dkv.de (The German Canoe Association) who should make a good impression. But we have to wait till it's released for Android...

Locus could do that too if there is a kayaking/canoeing router and routing data. Perhaps BRouter offers such a profile - it's possible to use BRouter routing profiles in Locus (see https://github.com/poutnikl/Brouter-profiles/wiki)
