Good day Ronald,

this happen after update to latest 3.9.0 version?

Please check if you have enabled online maps in settings > Maps - advanced > Available maps ( http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:maps_settings:online )

Thanks for the quick response. All of the available maps under this heading are checked (and were also checked before). The Map Manager still does not even show a tab for Online Maps.

Ah you do not even see the whole tab. Sorry, I missed this information.

Really weird that this happen to you. Please check in map manger top right menu button. Here is option "Visible tabs". I'm sure, this will help!

That made the Online tab show, but when I select a map to use online, it still doesn't show the free maps. It does take me to the Locus Store to buy the maps that need to be purchased, though.

Perfect, you are welcome!

I have to ask, are you aware of possibility, that you have changed this manually? Maybe by some accidental tap ...

It is possible, since I tried many things, but I don't know what it would have been. What would happen if I downloaded and installed Locus Pro again? would I lose all of the maps that have been downloaded? Can they be backed up first?

To give all information, it is Lotus Pro version 3.8.2

why do you want to reinstall ??

because now you see online maps again.

what's wrong now?

If you don't want to see maps, you have to pay for from locus store,

enable/disable maps in settings - map advanced - aviable maps

Read more about online maps here > http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:maps_online

Ronald require answer about re-install.

Here is it: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:from_free_to_pro , re-install is same as moving from Locus Free to Pro. So no worry about data if they are placed in root of card/internal memory. Anyway backup at all circumstances is always recommended.

I accidentally hide the tab. Thank you for the hint with visible tabs. Helped me a lot.

Sure, you are welcome.

Surprise for me, is that this settings cause to You and Ronald such troubles. Maybe it should be completely removed now when old "personal" and "vector" tabs are merged into one settings.

Or maybe just reduce it to possibility to hide WMS maps, nothing more. Have to think about it .. enjoy Locus and weekend!

Hi Menion

Here is the final report on the issue. I thought about a new installation because, even though the Online tab was now visible, it still could not display online maps, even after I upgraded to 3.9.0 version. It would only show offline maps I had downloaded. To make sure I didn't lose anything (and to have a control if I needed it), I copied the entire Locus folder onto my PC, not a simple job since the phone is not rooted. Then I completely uninstalled Locus and reinstalled it. It worked fine. Then I copied all of my previously downloaded maps back into the new Locus folder, and everything still worked fine. Your earlier thought if I had accidentally changed something in the original installation probably explains why it was misbehaving, but the new installation is working fine now.

Thanks for the help, and thanks for writing a great program.

Hi Menion,

I do not think that the functionality to hide the tabs is necessary. At least this is very uncommon on android and even generally in design. This was the reason why I didn't search for this (I did only in Preferences where I found the selection of WHICH Online Map but not of Online Maps in general. Maybe this is the place to configure that?

In my opinion a user not knowing what WMS-Maps are just ignores the tab and will not have the wish to hide it ("Maybe it will get useful in the future…").

Just my 2 Cents

Thank you again for the perfect support and the (almost perfect ;) ) program which I use almost daily and which made my holidays so wonderful!

This function (hiding tabs) was useful few years ago when in this screen were tabs! Some of them were not needed for all users, so ...

Anyway agree, it should be removed or at least reduced (more probable solution) to just "hide WMS tab" yes/no.

Glad I helped and enjoy Locus!
