Can't select a track point on outward section of out/return track along same road
Answered
If there a trick/ tip to selecting a track point on the outward section of out & return track along same road in track edit mode? In this mode I can tap anywhere on the track and the point will always be one from the return section of the track. Generally for any point on this track there will be two track points. My only workaround is to long tap the reverse button to select point #1, then tap tap tap until I select the outward track point I want. Even for 20km track there may be many 100's of points, and therefore 100's of taps required to select the correct outward track point. In this situation should a popup list display all the valid track points at this location (if more than one), then the user selects the desired point?
Hello Andrew,
this question is related to few more problems you already reported. Creating some popup with list of points and ability to choose isn't too simply now. Anyway let's try a first attempt. In next version will be little bit improved system, so if you tap second time on a place, where exactly lay two trackpoints, Locus should switch selection, between them. Seems to work nice to start ...

A good start but how will an "ordinary" user discover this selection feature? It would require careful knowledge from the manual or this topic or release note because the UI offers no clue that the feature is possible.

It won't. Because this is so advanced feature from my point view, that I don't understand that I care about it to be true ... I understand You and others, tries to create from Locus some multifunction track editor, but it was not, and is not, intent. It should contains some basic useful tool, but for more advanced feature I will still forward users to some existing editors.

That's OK. I appreciate your amazing efforts. I just thought out/back along same the road would be a fairly common style of track for lots of users.

ah you should not. I wasn't in best mood when i wrote my previous answer, sorry.
Anyway, let's try it in the field and we will see how it will work. I anyway may say, that "tap & choose from more trackpoints" should be a lot more easier. On second side a lot more complicated to make it work, because of a system I use.

Working nicely in 3.9.1.6 - thanks.
