Change coordinate readout

Answered

Is it possible to change the readout of coordinates (WGS) to include the (-) symbol? I.E. display the longitude value for Birmingham, Alabama as -86.72' instead of W 86.72'

Also, I added a custom coordinate type (EPSG:2240) and the coordinate readout adds the letter 'm' at the end of the coordinate. Is there any way to remove the 'm'?

Hello Brandon,

- first question: no it isn't. Is there any serious reason why you want this?

- second: generally all custom coordinate systems ends with this "m" symbol. Because I'm not expert on coordinate system, advice should be welcome. So has "m" sense for some systems or should be globally removed? As I think about it, I should remove it completely right?

Menion,

Thanks for the update.

1st- The main reason I am using the decimal degree format is for compatibility with other platforms. I am copying the lat / long out of Locus and into another database that is integer only format. I have found this to be the easiest format to reduce data entry errors.

2nd - I do not see a need to keep the 'm'. I am using an EPSG that is in feet and not meters, so the 'm' adds confusion. If you are not able to remove it globally, could you possibly add an end user option to not display it?

Thanks!

Hello,

thanks for answer, understand.

First issue - I have no precise numbers, but I think that more common between people is format with N/S, W/E, then decimal numbers. If you export anything from Locus, there is used decimal format for simplicity, but in case of formatted coordinates visible to users, I would rather stay with current format.

Second issue - Ok, let's try it to next version. I'll remove "m" to next Locus version and we will see if someone other will complain about it. If no, then no problem. If yes, I'll add to configuration file extra parameter that allows to enable units (defined).

So at least something. Ok?
