Coordinates Entry

Luther Peebles shared this idea 9 years ago
Completed

One line entry for coordinates, like

30.45678,-88.09876

Would be easier to copy from other sources and paste into Locus.

Using letters and numbers just takes too much keyboard use and for some devices is difficult.

Good day Luther,

please check screen where you define source of location

http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tools:location#location_selector_dialog

Button "Clipboard". This should help.

It's not perfect, but most common formats should work correctly.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, that works for pasting into Locus.

What is funny is that if I copy the coords. from Locus waypoint edit

page, the clipboard doesn't recognize them. I have to delete the degree

symbol for the latitude for it to work. The long. degree symbol doesn't

seem to matter. The spaces don't seem to matter.

Ah "funny" ... thanks. Never-ending problems with parsing of coordinates.

Fixed.

I'm closing this idea as "completed", because old problem should be fixed and latest Locus version should also parse format mentioned in first post.

The link mentioned above is not valid any more. I'm interested in because I like the posted idea on the top.

Thanks for the quick action :)

Does it take so time to get the link valid? I get this message now "This topic does not exist yet".

Ah sorry! I've fixed that link, but click on text called still old invalid link. Now it should be ok.
