Copy only parts of GC logs to the clipboard

Hi,

I often need to just copy parts of a GC log into the clipboard. But it seems to be only possible to copy the full content.

Is there any feature to just choose some text parts as I can do it from the listing?

Thanks Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,

tapping a GC log shows several options - translation, owner profile, sending a message and clipboard (copying the whole log). There is no place where to add a partial text selection. And no demand for it as well... except yours. So, I'm sorry...

Hi Michal,

what a petty, because I have the same problem. I export my geocaches from GSAK, where my notes are the first log. In the field, I sometimes have to copy something from the log, e.g. an URL which I want to open, but am not able to do so.

Hello guys,

a little complicated task to solve. In case, I enable selection of the text, the app lost its option to display popup dialog with options after the click, so it's not a solution.

Interesting for me is why you put your notes as the first log? Why not directly into the short or long description for example?

Also question on Wolfgang, why you need to copy only part of the log text? And if there is this need, how often? Because for really rare usage, I believe that copy the whole log and remove the un-needed part after "Paste", won't be a big problem.

Hi Menion,

looks like I have the same setup as Andreas. GSAK has the feature to put own Cache notes as first log while exporting to gpx. This GPX I import into locus. That's what a lot of GSAK users do. In the cache notes are mostly needed information for the outside part e.g. a URL or parts of the solution like variables. These are the 'found logs parts' I need to go ahead.

I could not image to need a whole log in the clipboard. What should I do with a regular found log in the clipboard? Only the translation could make sense but this also would be possible when I mark the whole log.

I know a lot of people working like this. But most people I brought to Locus would never follow such a forum or ever post something here. So they would never complain here ;)

Thanks for asking why I need this :))

Hello,

oki, thanks for the feedback. After some testing, I made an only solution that comes to my mind. An additional option in the log popup menu that displays a new small dialog with the log and here it may be possible to copy&paste text content as you need. So, in next version ...
