Creation Date of a Track always changes to Current Date/Time

Ulrich Herrmann shared this problem 7 years ago
Solved

Once I have changed the activity of a track at the information page, then the creation date/time of the track (at the same page) is set to current date/time. At the folder view of the track, the date remains unchanged. After reopen of the track, the creation date/time is set to current date/time again. Resetting the activity to 'not specified' does not help.

By the way:

Until now the creation date/time was the same as the start time of a track. Would it be possible to display start-time and end-time instead? It would be more informative for me.

Good day Ulrich,

thank you, issue found and fixed.

As I look into Locus source code, it looks like there is a small mess in these times. Mainly real time when track was created is missing in database itself and is stored as "Start time", so you are correct, both are same (except rare cases). So consider "Create time" as start time.

Track end-time statistic would be great. At present I have to edit track, move to last point, display info.

Any chance to edit the track date (and time) easily? What about to "reset" the track date to the date of the first track point?

Michael, I hope that no such settings is needed. All should be done automatically.

And start / stop times. Hmm, as usually main question for me is a) is it really so interesting? (I can't remember I ever needed stop time) and b) where to place such values not to disturb too much. But this is on another discussion, not in this bug-report.

Btw. in latest 3.18.2 version I found one more issue with track times. Sorry for this, will be fixed in next version, so wait a while if you notice track times from year 1970. Thank you for understanding.

Menion,

I have some hundreds of gpx tracks representing my hiking activities for the last years. In Locus, (nearly) all of them show the same date. With the next update, I will reimport some track again to check if the date thing will work fine.

Because then I could easily find certain tracks by date - and I would like to see the start time (e.g. 3.7.'16 12:30) but not the ending time.
