Cross platform map downloading

Answered

I have two Android mobile devices and a Windows 7 computer. I would like to be able to download maps with the Windows 7 platform and then install the maps on the Android devices for mobile use. Is there a way to do this?

It would be nice to have a Windows 7 base application to share data with the mobile devices. I will be using the mobile devices in remote locations where there is no wireless service, and need offline map access. Map downloading takes time, and I would like to still use my mobile devices in remote locations while the downloading of maps of other areas goes on with my Windows machine. Transferring the map files would then be very simple.

Thanks,

Allan

Hello Allan,

I`m not much skilled with various programs on PC, but as I know, most used program for downloading maps on PC is MOBAC. Do you know it? Check this homepage http://mobac.sourceforge.net/ where you may get some information.

If anyone use some better methods, I`ll also gladly listen
