Dark Mode in Locus Map 4?

Hi,

six years ago there was a thread with 34 thumbs up. This one had be closed 4 years ago. Today the Dark Mode is available from day to day in more and more apps.

A new big version of locus map is in development. Mind and hopefully the design (code) may change.

I think that 34 thumbs up and this 4 years ago was more than a big wish.

So just a quick question: Will the dark mode be available in v4 of locus map?

Hello Wolfgang,

simple answer: yes!

The dark mode is already partially implemented (but not available) in recent Locus Map version 3.40 (one of the biggest not visible changes in the new version). It still needs quite a lot of fine-tuning, but it will definitely be available in LM 4.

Dear Menion,

that's great and makes me happy.

The biggest problem is to stay in the dark and read a cache description - after that you don't see anything for a few seconds.

Another problem with dark mode.

Situation: Goggle Pixel 4 with android 10 and dark mode enabled (in display settings).

If I start Locus there are white letters at white ground, see appends.

When disabling dark mode all is good to see.

are you using official app dark mode and not some hack on Xiaomi devices? Dark mode in Locus Map 4 may be enabled in app settings > Controlling > Display > Dark theme.

If I change to white mode in the mobile, it is displayed correctly, regardless of whether I have white / dark / system.

If I have a dark theme in the mobile, I get the wrong colors whatever I set in the locus.

it is not about "white mode" in mobile. What dvice are you using? Xiaomi? Isn't in your device option that force apps to use Dark mode even if they are not perfectly ready for it?

I googled xiaomi and dark mode. Xiaomi has such weird settings for everything. ;)

Found to set settings / display / dark mode / Individual apps. Then uncheck for locus.

Now it works.
