Dashboard avg speed

Tim Finnegan shared this problem 8 years ago
Solved

Avg movement speed in dashboard during recording track is shown incorrectly. Actually it much less that total avg speed and not more that 7-8kmh

Just after start avg mov speed is ok but soon (probably after first stop) it became too small

Good day Tim,

if you long click on any item in track record dashboard, you may change it. There are two options for average speed - "all" and "movement". If you do some stops during your ride, switch average speed to "movement" version. This should help, because Locus will then display average speed only from track parts, where you were really moving.

Let me know if this helps.

Maybe it's misunderstanding

I mean avg movement speed in custom dashboard that shown over screen like bike comp.

I have construct it in dashboard editor. So I have both total and movement avg speed at the screen and movement is less than total , that is nonsense

Ah understand. This really happen? Hmm.

You have recorded and stored track right? When you tap on this recorded track, then in tab "statistics" you may see various parameters and also a average speeds. May you please if they are correct? If not, please export for me your track to GPX file. Thanks and sorry for troubles.

Yes, track is saved and in statistic avg mov speed is correct. It is very strange. feels like some incorrect segments calculation after stops

Hello TIm,

I was trying to test these values in the field during training, but unfortunately they seems to be correct.

Average speed is computed from distance and measured time. There are anyway two times. Again time "all" and time "movement". May you please check during your rides also these times, if they are correct?

Also one more info, I found one small issue, that may be related to this. So wait please on next Locus version (tomorrow) and test it with latest version. Thank you
