Database conversion loop on new version
Solved
The new version of Locus Map free downloaded and updated. When I started it, I chose the recommended options. I then get the database conversion dialogue. I chose yes and it says "Process successful, start Locus again". I restart Locus and it goes back to the database conversion page dialogue again.
I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and moving it to the SD card, but it hasn`t helped.
This is a Galaxy Note running Jelly Bean, stock.
Any ideas?
Ian
The same problem
Hello Ian,
version that did conversion was released somewhere in September last year, so seems you did not update too often :). Anyway sorry for this problems. Conversion should run correctly, because it`s quite tested, but seems that your device has still some problems.
To explain it a little. In Locus/data directory are some files that ends *.sqll. These files are old databases that needs to be converted into new system. All should be backuped in Locus/backup as an before_conversion_x.zip file (rather check it).
New converted databases are now in Locus/data/database directory, you may check it also.
So, I suggest to rather manually backup old data if you don`t want to loose anything, and then delete all these *.sqll files in Locus/data directory. Locus will then see only new database files and all should works correctly.
Let me know, I`ll gladly help if there will be more problems

Hi Menion,
Thanks for the speedy response. I`m not a big Locus user (at the moment), so it seems I haven`t opened it for a while, which is probably why it asked to convert this time around.
I followed your instructions and deleted out the sqll files and it started up fine.
Cheers for the help.

Perfect, you`re welcome. Feel free to ask (or search ;) ), if you`ll have any more problems or questions
