DEinstallation and REinstallation problem

Solved

Hi,

I`ve been using Locus Pro for a long time - very happy, but today I just broke it :/

I`m using it on my ZTE V970 now. I wanted to move the software from the phone memory to SD card and I did it with AppMgr III. Then a bug information came out on the screen (I don`t remember now what was the info, but "problem with:" - and then some notifications. So, I went to applications management and deinstalled the software. I wanted to install it again and THERE IS THE PROBLEM I need to resolve with Your help:

The phone doesn`t see the software at all. After deinstallation I also deleted all the folder "Locus", BUT Google Play sees the Locus Pro as Installed on my device (of course I`m online now). When I try to deinstall it from Google Play I see "deinstalled" but after few minutes it`s "installed" again. Help me please, because I love Your software and I`m using it everyday...

Yours sincerely

Darek

OK! Problem solved... for 5,99 USD (titanium Backup PRO).

It integrates the phone with the market, so... done.

Good news - but one question:

WHY u move Locus with an app (AppMgr III)??

Well that`s because when I want to setup the maps folder from SD card 2 it`s impossible. Locus doesnt allow me to choose any folders from SD card 2, which is my storage for everything. Locus installed on my phone memory and that`s the only place from which it can take my personal maps, I don`t know why but I see it as a big problem!

Android 4.04

Etotalk MOD rom...

Works very well, the problem is in Locus.

The default software installation card is SD card 2 - but Locus "sees" only "SD card" which is internal phone memory.

And the problem is that "SD Card" has only around 2 GB, and SD card 2 is 16 GB... now You understand why ;)

Hello,

I’m very sorry but installation issues are not (on 99%) related with Locus.

Anyway, try to perform steps below:

- Uninstall Locus in standard way

- Clear cache of Google play app (Open Android Settings > apps > Google Play Store and press “Clear data”, “Clear cache”

- You get warning message but don’t worry you can confirm clearing

- Restart phone

- Try to install Locus again via Google Play store app

Thanks, problem is already solved and the Titanium Backup is very useful, so I`m glad I bought it.

But the MAIN PROBLEM remained:

How to choose "my maps" folder not from the phone`s memory but from external SD card?

Hi darrr71,

select your own maps, first klick the +button on top of the screen, second klick bottom of the popupwindow and navigate to your Sd-card.

i hope it is what you want ?!

Hi und danke sehr, Wolfgang, aber das wirkt nicht.

The root folder "ends" on my phone`s internal memory. I can go from there into "sdcard" folder, which is my phone`s internal memory (2 GB), but I can`t "go outside" the root and choose the external storage card (16 GB). Every other software doesn`t have this kind of limitation - I can freely navigate between my storages.

darrr, did you tried just MOVE locus folder from internal memory into external card?

Move the folder "Locus" with copy-paste?

Wait... I`ll do this now and see ;)

if you do only copy-paste, this mean that locus remain on it`s original location, so rename at least original directory.

Locus is trying to find it`s directory during a start, so if change location, there is possibility that Locus find it correctly

I tried - it doesn`t work. Every time I delete the folder "Locus" and restart the application - the software generates the new folder "Locus", the one I changed name exists too ;/

hmm these custom-every-rom-different makes me crazy one day :)

If this do not help, it may only mean, that

1) path to your SD card is not in /etc/vold.fstab file - alternative to common linux /etc/fstab (is that even possible)

2) android Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory() do not return path to your sd card

3) your SD card is not mounted as directory into your internal memory

then tell me, how may I find path to your SD card??

Well... all I can see is the path: mnt/sdcard2 for my external storage and mnt/sdcard for my phone`s internal storage. I check this from "Gallery" or "File Manager" - the two storages are there, but from Locus it`s impossible to reach the external storage.

When I`m into "File Manager" I see "Home> and two storages: sdcard and sdcard2 from which I can choose.

When I start the application "Root Explorer v2.19" from Speed Software Ltd I see "sdcard" folder, in which is the "Locus" and can`t find "sdcard2" folder.

Believe me... I understand much less than You with that...

hmm so if you have time to experiment, test this version http://forum.locusmap.eu/viewtopic.ph...

don`t forget to do backup of your files. Just move locus on card as before. I added your special directory to searching places at start so Locus should now find directory on your card

Thank You very much. I will try this later, because in the meantime I changed something in the system folder and after the factory reset my phone can only do calls and sms. Data connection doesn`t work, so I can`t setup any new application... well... shit happens...
