unfortunately, I have no idea what your "idea" means, try to describe it more precisely. Also suggest to search here on help desk or on our manual site: http://docs.locusmap.eu for topic related to offline altitude data, because support for DEM is in Locus for a very long time.

I still do not understand, sorry. You wants some 3D model of terrain, or just shading or just see current altitude, or contour lines? As I wrote, describe it better. Anyway 3D is not possible, contour lines are part of Locus Maps from Locus Store, shading and altitude on map is possible, more in manual.

Yes I mean to say that 3D model of terrain. I got DEM of certain area. I am looking for an option of adding DEM as layer so that I can view my area as a 3D terrain(Like google earth).

If Locus is in the process of upgrading to 3D terrain support, It should not be constraint to SRTM. Because high resolution SRTM is not available for certain areas(In my case India). I have got my own DEM files . of-course there are many GIS tools to convert any format into any required format. For entry level users it is very difficult to understand conversion techniques .

Oki, then you have to vote here: http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/3d_maps_by_using_srtm_files
