Display Orientation Lock to allow Auto Reverse Portrait
When using Locus for navigation in my car, I prefer to use reverse portrait orientation to keep the charging lead away from the gear lever. When using Locus out of the car I prefer normal portrait mode.
My phone is set to auto rotate in system settings. Google Maps will auto rotate to reverse portrait but Locus will not.
I can force Locus into reverse portrait orientation in Settings > Controlling > Display > Orientation Lock but this requires quite a few key presses each time to set and unset it.
What I would like is:
1. In Settings > Controlling > Display > Orientation Lock I would like an option for Auto Rotate, regardless of System Settings.
2. Furthermore, I would like that option to include Reverse Portrait. I don't think that need be a separate choice.
Good day John,
if I start Google Maps and turn the device upside down (to reverse portrait), the screen does not rotate to this mode. There is some special settings to force this kind of orientation?
In Locus Map, "System settings" option just do nothing, no special setup. This means that if your device has "Auto rotate", in Locus it should work as well. If I understand correctly, you want some kind of "Auto rotate" option directly in Locus Map, that will detect the orientation of device based on sensors and allows to automatically rotate screen also into "Reverse portrait"? Uff.

I have no special setting and normally I cannot get reverse portrait. However once I am navigating in Google Maps, reverse portrait works. It doesn't work until I press the "Start" button to start navigation. I like this functionality, though I would prefer that the Maps app did reverse portrait on all screens..
What I would like is for Locus to allow autorotate into reverse portrait mode. Maybe that could require no further settings, maybe a special option, like "Full autorotate".

Thanks John, understand. I'm looking on it and maybe it should be possible, but ...
I personally really miss "Orientation lock" settings in preset. On bike, I often suffer from enabled screen rotation compare to play at home or walks. Anyway, due to some technical problems, I cannot yet add this option into presets, but it is definitely planned.
So question ... should this be a solution for you?

Orientation lock in presets would solve my problem. But I still think my idea is best 😉.
