Display nearby POIs from OSM maps in a list

Let`s assume I stand in the middle of a foreign city and look for a restaurant. I have opened Locus with an OSM-generated vector map. It would be cool to see a list with all nearby restaurants which are marked as such on the OSM map, in order of their distance from my current location.

Osmand has a feature like this, however somewhat awkwardly implemented because it doesn`t order the search results, and it has way to many categories.

My suggestion: Define a small list of categories (30 max) and map them to the possible categories in OSM (e.g. those in http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Ke... ). Then, extract the info from the map and display them in a list.

this feature is very good. But i would like to have a similar feature with my own pois. Perhaps integrate it in the left menue\ pois near me\categories\normal POIs. It would be fine when i could join here my own POIs by subfolders.

Maybe from this idea. Poi alarm only for certain folder or certain category.

Or / and certain distance to the track

no, i don't want an alert. But the possibility to choose only the folders i want to see near me is very good.
