Dividing LoMaps of Poland into at least two parts

Hi,

is there any chance of dividing the map of Poland into at least two parts (north and south)? This is a large area (it takes up a lot of space in memory), and as I live in the southern part of the country, I don't need a map of the north every day.

I noticed that other countries with a large area are divided into regions. For me, the best solution would be a separate map of Lesser Poland Voivodeship :). Is there such a chance?

Hi,

I see but we always wanted to avoid two parts of maps because there are some complications. The offline address search and POIs DB donot allow search in while country. This is complication for address searching. However I keep the idea open for votes.

Thanks for the quick response. I didn't know about the address searching issue. This really explains a lot.

However, other users may find this idea to be good - in Poland Locus Map is very popular - I personally do what I can, make it even more popular and recommend it to all my friends :). We'll see.

Anyway, the issue of map division is not very important and it doesn't change the fact that Locus is the best app for sports and tourism :).

Am I right that we talk about less than one GB ?

If I recall correctly, 32 GB SD cards cost about 10 EUR. Do I miss a point here ?

Of course, you are right. I solved this in the way you write: I moved the maps to the SD card.

But you probably know that the maps stored in the external memory work a bit slower.

Agreed, a bit slower in principle. For zoom levels 11 and above the difference is hard to spot. For zoom levels up to 10 incl., I am using world raster maps as overlay in Locus. Very fast, even from SD card.

That's why I wrote in my second post: this is not important issue. Even though Locus works like a charm :)
