Don't ignore track transparency setting for imported track

Andrew Heard shared this problem 8 years ago
Not a Problem

Regarding 3 settings > Miscellaneous:

  • settings > Miscellaneous > Track color
  • settings > Miscellaneous > Track transparency
  • settings > Miscellaneous > Track width

I can see that the track color and width are being observed when I import a track (eg. track in BRouter mapItems) however the transparency is ignored. Maybe I misunderstand "transparency"? I was hoping to see the road name underneath the imported track, but transparency (0% to 100%) makes no difference - track color is always 100% solid.

PS. after more testing, ahhh - change of transparency is only ignored UNTIL track is refreshed (eg. restart Locus, or hide/visible). So topic suggestion now simply - repaint imported track after change of transparency.

Good day Andrew,

I'm testing it and I'm almost 100% sure, it works correctly. But, I think that there is a small miss-understanding.

Color you define in settings is applied to all "imported and manually created" (not sure now, why in description is also "recorded") tracks. But! this color is applied in the moment you imported track or finished manual creation. In that moment, color is set to track and track is saved with this color defined.

Later changes to this color, has anyway absolutely no effect on some already saved "imported or manually created" tracks. It's just applied in that moment.

Hmm, so probably wrong description in settings, right? Let me know if it works for you as I wrote.

Yes, you are totally correct. Probably delete this topic. I would have deleted once I (later) wrote my "PS" but no facility to update or delete.

If you don't mind, I'll leave it as it may contains useful information for others.

I also plan some changes in settings, so if I don't mind, I'll improve description for this settings little bit.

Of course. Still, would be nice if posts could be edited. Sometimes after new topic post you discover answer yourself, or have said something pretty stupid you'd like to retract, or try to clarify ;-)

Well such requests (on changes how this system works), have to be forwarded to developers of this help desk. I'm not skilled enough to do manually some more serious modifications.
