Downloading offline maps to SD card

I am trying to download an offline map, but it says there is insufficient space even though there is about 100GB available on my SD card. I have moved the whole app to my SD card as suggested but it still will not download the map.
I suspect it is trying to download it to my internal memory - any suggestions how I can force it to use my SD card?!

follow instructions here: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:use_sdcard_on_kitkat. Keep in mind that new Android OS does not name external sdcard as "sdcard" but some code name, e.g. "skcdjbvkifj".
