E-compass not available in smartphone
Answered
Hello. I am interested in buy a new smartphone (Moto G4), but today I found that it did not have e-compass. Does it affect any functions in Locus Map? Would it be wise to get a smartphone without it?
It seems that is a matter more of your phone than Locus, Have you calabriated your phones compass?

Good day Marco,
Locus is prepared to be fully working also with devices without a hardware compass, so it won't cause any technical problems. It may be mainly useful for geocaching, but otherwise it has no huge benefit so no worry to much about it, from my point of view.
And Dave, there is really no compass on this device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/help/compass-g4-plus-t3381905 ;).

Personally I find a compass sensor essential for guiding (even without map rotation). It procudes a usefull guiding line even when at a standstill.
In Locus you can set a speed under which it uses the compass and above which speed it uses the gps for direction. (see: settings/sensors).
Therefore I am skipping the G4.
