Erroe Code:2 Message:Not Authorized

When i try to Log a cache or update the number of cache founded...Locus say me "Code:2 Message:Not Authorized" I have change my password on Geocache site but i've update it in locus immidiatly...but i've this problem then i can't use the program...sigh

Sameone can help me?

Good day Marzio,


I'm sorry for this issue. One user already reported this a few days ago. Issue is now fixed and login will work as expected in next version of Locus next week.


For now, most simple solution is to clear preferences of Locus. This should be done in your device preferences > list of apps > Locus > Clear data.


You'll have to set some of your settings again, but login will work. Or please wait one week till new version will be out. Thanks for understanding and sorry for a troubles.

Hi...i've resolved with this method:

clear preferences of Locus. This should be done in your device preferences > list of apps > Locus > Clear data.

After.the problem will disappear

Sorry I´m not going to Clear data if I do not have to. Is there going to be a locus update? Btw. what would I clear. Settings, pocket queries, maps, ...? Thank a lot.

Follow me...

Tap on the option menu upper at left...then tap Settings...them scroll all down until Various.

Inside here you will found "sett defoult data" or like this...i don'tknow how is in english settings.

Ok, I did it. Not happy about it. But did it. Terrain log solved at the moment. But new error appeared. Not authorized Exception: LiveGeocachingApiException. (connected with cache update) I do not know where in Options tick this. Could you help, please?

You can disinstall and reinstall the Geocaching Expansion and try to see if is fixed the problem...

First try to relogged your password in Option - Settings - Geocaching

Let me know...because this error.code i never seen.

Sorry, can´t see the option for the password relogging. Do not know how to disinstall and reinstall the Geocaching Expansion either. (using the latest locus update, android 4.4.4, Samsung galaxy note 4) Thanks for your help. Appreciate what you are doing guys.

I have the same problem. Reinstalling GC Expansion doesn't help.

Hi guys,


sorry for a troubles. It started to you after you changed password on gc.com site or without any obvious reason?


Also what may helps is to open menu > more > geocaching tools. Here tap on for example "Load pocket questied". You profile should appear on "Ggeocaching tools" screen with small "Doors" symbol that allows to logout and later login again. This may helps instead of whole reset of Locus preferences.

YEEEES :o))) This works. I tried other trick before - Geocaching4Locus-Settings-signOff/SignIn again. The same login screen as in your case, then Allow Access, but this way doesn't work.

I tried once more but unsuccessfully again.

I did logged me out.

I did logged me in: Load Pocket Query/Allow Access/Valid login (no password reguired) - I can see my Nick + correct Amount of caches fund and hiden.

But the error remains. :-(

Hi,

it started with the 30. 1. update.

Your suggestion didn´t work. I logged out and logged in again but the issue remained.

Hmm, fortunately same problem (issue with error code 2), happen on my device as well. Seems that Groundspeak for unknown reason cancel existing login after some time and require new login in app. So Locus now clear old login data and request to try it again. Which then open known screen where you enter name/pass.


Anyway problem gargantuan wrote about is probably something completely different. Again some nice change on gc.com server? Because I expected it worked before and there were no changes in Locus itself. Is same problem happen also with latest 3.6.2 version of Locus?

Anything new concerning this issue in 3.6.2. for me. I checked right away after update but haven´t commented yet. (btw. NO error code 2 - no issue with logging the cache, JUST issue with updating cache - Not authorized Exception: LiveGeocachingApiException. Do not understand how Vladimir Pribil fixed it last week.)

Hi gargantuan

GC4L and Locus (FieldNotes) use own login to GS

GC4L for e.g. cache update, offlinizer

Locus for e.g. PQ´s, cache logging


if i understand you right your problem is "cache update" and for updating a cache GC4L is responsible.

So open GC4L settings log off and log in again

Quite confusing with "what is in Locus and what in G4L", right? :) Because "GC Offlinizer" is also completely inside Locus and not in G4L.


Features around downloading caches (live map, download of caches around, download based on GC code) and newly also downloading of older logs in bottom menu are done in G4L. All other features should be directly in Locus.
