Error 1154 during updating Locus Pro

Tom Astleitner shared this problem 9 years ago
Solved

I've set my density lower as default and installed an Xposed fix to have Google Play suppose density is on default (what basically works perfect). After updating Locus, I've received an error 18something. Now I've defaulted density, rebooted and cleared Play cache. Locus quits the library download after start with error 1154 (which seems not to be documented anywhere). Locus is unusable from this moment what's kinda annoying as I needed it in that moment.

1st How to solve my bugged installation?

2nd How to keep things running and up to date even with varying density?

3rd Is this library updating mechanism really the cleverest idea after having troubles like this?

Good day Tom,

hard to help here ...

1) don't know. Error 1154 means, that Google Play application! was not able to verify certificate used for signing Locus. This usually means, that Google Play app, has some problems due to previous modifications. Or some other app modified Locus installation which caused invalid source files.

2) sorry, do not know.

3) good question. In most cases, it works without problems. In cases, when someone starts to experiment with some "non-standard" features of Android system, it may start to cause a troubles. It has two sides - it prevent from too easy cracking and unauthorised Locus usage, on second side it complicate life to more advanced users that wants "more" then just "smart" device.

Anyway, current system is exactly year old and amount of users with troubles like you is really really short. So I have no problems to say - "yes, I have no problems with current system and I think it works fine".

So how to solve it? Try to uninstall Locus, clear cache of Google Play, restart device and try to install it again. With rooted device, also suggest to delete existing directory in "/data/data/menion.android.locus.pro". This should help ...

Thanks to your guiding, I finally found the problem. For the records: After installing Locus again, XPrivacy reminded me for checking restrictions, so I did as usual and downloaded the preferences from the crowd. Now comes the problem, because of your kinda usage of Play, restricting Locus to access category "accounts" results in that problem I ran into. So uncheck that restriction giving Locus access to accounts and it's good to go.

Still, this libraries downloading thing is not my greatest love tough.

Regards!

Hello Tom,

I'm surprised that limited access to "accounts" for Locus app caused this. Because accounts should be needed only if you wants to access a Locus Store, not necessary before. Also error 1154 should be caused by some issue with verification of Locus in Google Play application, not Locus itself.

Interesting, and I'm really glad you were able to solve it!
