Error re-downloading maps

Oliver shared this problem 9 years ago
Solved

Hi,

I've tried to re-download a map by setting "overwrite older tiles" to 1 day.

However as soon as Locus attempts to download a tile I get a download error ("check internet connection and space on sdcard...").

This does not happen when I download a part of the same map that I have not downloaded before.

So I'd say it's neither a connection nor an sdcard issue? Is the database corrupted?

regards, Oliver.

which online map?

It's a custom map.

But I don't think it can be related to the actual map since downloading new tiles works just fine?!

I'm not sure, but i think Kompass maps are not supported.

In respect of Kompass terms of use.

Maybe a hint from other users will help.

True, Kompass maps are not supported by default. But I own their Austrian maps DVD which they just don't bother to update so it's fairly out of date by now... That's why I included Kompass manually in Locus.

I'd still say the symptoms suggest it's not a map issue but an sqlite or Locus issue.

You should also consider creating a log file by this method http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:how_to_create_debug_log , where should be any interesting information.

I tried rebuilding the database as suggested above but that didn't change anything.

I then tried re-downloading a bit of another map. This time OpenTopoMap - same result. It fails immediately.

Menion, I created the log file - how can I send it to you? I wouldn't want to attach it publicly... seems to contain all kinds of information.

Hello Oliver,

understand. Please send it to locus@asamm.com, I'll check it, thanks

Thanks Oliver,

this helps. I found one issue in Locus that may be related to this problem. In next version (or test version), it will be solved. Let me know after you test it, if there will be any problem.
