Axel Burghardt shared this problem 9 years ago
Solved

Right after start, Locus reports issue with access to point/tracks database.

Or even crash right after start.

Is Locus running on new Nexus 9 device?

Good day Axel,

sorry for a late answer. I was trying to find out more about this new issue on Android 5, but seems that no workaround exists.

Issue that happen to you is probably caused by this already reported problem:

Official Google bug tracker: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=79994

StackOverFlow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26937152/workaround-for-nexus-9-sqlite-file-write-operations-on-external-dirs

Unfortunately it is issue in Android itself that has to be repaired by next OTA update. As far as I found, as a developer I'm unable to fix it by myself. Sorry to say this.

If there will be any news, I'll inform you in this topic.

In such case, I have to ask you for creating special log file where should be visible, why this problem happen. How to create a log, is wrote here: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:how_to_create_debug_log , thank you!

Hello guys,

Jason, thanks for logs, anyway in this case, it won't help. I have merged two similar topics. In my first post is information about this issue.

As I mentioned, issue is directly in new Android version, not Locus itself. It's already reported and comited to Android code - https://android-review.googlesource.com/#/c/115351/3 . This was done 8 weeks ago, so I hope, that in next 5.0.2 version of Android, this issue will be already fixed. As I know, on 5.0.1, this is not yet fixed.

I've tried to read more about it, but seems there is no possible workaround for this issue. Sorry.

I've received yesterday OTA for Nexus 7 on 5.0.2 Android. Is there already update for 5.0.2 also for Nexus 9? Any news about this problem? Should be solved in this new 5.0.2 version I think.

Nexus 9 is still running 5.0.1, so waiting patiently for 5.0.2.

Hi. Has this been solved? I still get the same error, rendering Locus useless. Any news on the update?

Hello Juraj,

unfortunately I'm unable to solve it on Locus side, so there needs to be an update of Android to higher version, where this issue is solved.

I hope this Google update brings a solution to our Locus errors on Nexus 9.

Hello guys, my Nexus 7 got yesterday OTA for Android 5.1, so what about Nexus 9?

Any update from Google? What about this issue? Still exists in latest 5.1 Android?

Unfortunately, there is no update out for nexus 9 yet. Locus still won't start :-(

Hmm, has anyone idea why there is no update for Nexus 9? Because for all other Nexus devices, there is already an update: http://www.androidcentral.com/here-are-android-51-ota-update-links-and-how-use-them . Hmm so another stupid waiting ...

We will get Android 5.1.1 for our Nexus 9 devices.

***WORKING***

Here is exactly what I did:

- install 5.1.1. Update

- run locus

[Problem persists]

- reinstall locus

[Problem persists]

- reinstall locus and reboot tablet

[Problem persists]

-reinstall locus and delete every file or folder that a search for *locus* in total commander returned.

[Problem solved]

So finally solved? Seems it took only 7 months till fix from Google company appear in OTA update. Not as fast as I hoped ...
