Good day Venereo,

there are quite serious problems in times of field notes because of mess, that is made on geocaching.com server with times (known problem).

Anyway important here is, if final logged time on geocaching.com is correct or not. Are on that server visible precise times of log? If so, may you check it?

The screenshot is from a local log, it hasn't been uploaded yet, so I guess it's not a geocaching.com issue

Oki, then it will be probably a correct value. Stored time values should be in UTC+0 time zone if I remember correctly.

When I write to the log, locus says utc+1,but after log is saved locus has utc+0 in the log

I wanted to say that Locus recompute time you define during creating a log into UTC+0 timezone. Then it is recomputed to correct values when it is uploaded to geocaching.com. Because field notes files required UTC+0, but direct upload or direct log (online) required UTC+8 , so Locus needs to keep time value in UTC+0 to be able to correctly compute time value based on what you will do with it later.

So only important here is, if log is correctly uploaded and logged in geocaching.com, no matter, which method you use. And as I know, this should be ok.

I'm not even sure how to check time of uploads on geocaching.com so I'll trust your word if you think it is working as it should

I'm also not sure how to check it, unfortunately.

Anyway truth is, that I'm also not 100% sure that method I use is correct. I'll try to watch it carefully during caching and fix possible problem if there will be any. To display correct times also in Field notes add-on, it will probably needs some updates in Locus and also in add-on. I think this is not a serious problem, but thanks you pointed on this.

Hello,

I am using Locus Pro and the field notes addon over the last two years without any problem by uploading my fieldnotes to groundspeak, i.e. the log date has been always correct. So to my point of view there is no need to change the way the fiekd notes works.

I am not sure, if groundspeak stores the time part of the log date info into their database. It is only important, that the field notes contain the log date / time convertetd to UTC+0 in order to determine the correct log date by groundspeak.

Therefore I placed a {t}-Variable to my log text in order to display my log time of the corresponding log date in the log text.

Thank you, glad to hear it. So, "case closed".

Sorry to reopen but if you upload local logs as fieldnotes you can see on geocaching.com that the timestamp of log is 1 hour behind

Where you please see exact time on geocaching.com web page? I still see there just a whole day and cannot find a place where is visible hour and minutes.

Sorry my bad I was logging in a different timezone. You can heck it by uploading logs as fields notes and then opening fieldnotes on geocaching.com

Hello Venereo,

I'm testing it and it works correctly for me.

Example:

I've logged a cache in 14:32 in Czech time (UTC+1). In field notes manager I see that cache was logged in 13:32 UTC+0, in log description is pre-filled "2016-01-01 at 14:32, Thanks". When I upload this log into geocaching.com as field note, I see correctly "01 January 2016 14:32:12".

If you do not see correct time on web page, suggest to check your timezone settings directly in geocaching.com profile > settings.
