Folders with tracks and point disappeared and other problems

About a month ago I discovered that on my Locus pro installed on my Sony T3 (D5103) with Android 4.4.4 disappeared the folders with tracks and point saved in two years.

My default folder was in external storage card. /sdcard1 and the app was working regularly.

At some time the folder with points and tracks desappeared and I tried to uninstall and reinstall.

Is it possible find a backup folder with that tracks and point?

Now I tried to reinstall a new track and to save some point during registration. But I don't find that point as a separate waypoint but only in the registered track in the map view.

When I try to save a new point with a photo the camera go to crash.

Could you suggest me a way to solve that problems?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Francesco,

if you had Locus root directory on your external SD card, with Android 4.4.4. it was possible only in the system-dedicated folder Android/data/menion.android.locus/files - other external storage for applications is prohibited by the operating system. The problem is, if you uninstalled Locus, this folder was deleted including backups (more information about storing Locus data on the external SD card here: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:use_sdcard_on_kitkat#locus_and_all_its_data_on_sd_card)

"reinstall a new track and to save some point during registration" - I don't understand this sentence, perhapús something about creating a new route? More info here: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tracks:planning

Creating a new point: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:points:add. If camera crashes during taking photos, it's not Locus fault. If Locus crashes, please follow these instructions: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:issue_reporting

Hi Michal,

thanks for your prompt reply.

With refer to the first question, now I see that my default directory is /storage/emulated/0.

In that path I see a directory named "Locus".

I hope in the future don't lose my tracks and waypoints. Is it possible that the accident was consequece of use of apps to free spece as "SD Maid"?

With refer to the second question excuse me for the mistake: I try to explain better:

"Now I tried to register a new track and to save some point during

registration. But I don't find that point in a separate folder of waypoints (see the following screeshot) but

only in the registered track in the map view (with red arrows).

In the screenshot you can see only 1 waypoint but I registered more than 6 waypoints.

With refer to the third question I updated the app and now the camera doesn't crash.

Hi Francesco,

it is possible that your data were wiped away by the SDMaid app if your let it do without your manual interference. Please handle these cleaning programmes with awareness. I strongly recommend to set up automatic backup of your tracks and points in Locus Backup manager (see in More functions) and from time to time save its backup packages out of your device (e.g. to Dropbox).

As for the tracks - Locus can RECORD tracks, IMPORT tracks or PLAN (DRAW) routes. Not REGISTER. You are probably talking about recording tracks and adding waypoints during the process. If you use the special button dedicated for creating waypoints during recording (blue one next to the stop and pause buttons) - you create waypoints which are a part of the track, not detached points. Points detached from the track can be created this way: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:points:add
